HELP PLEASE!!! ESCAPE___NEED HELP FINDING HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

micky-kennie Feb 23, 2004 08:20 PM

My savanah monitor, micky has esaped, and we cannot find him anywhere. He has done this several times before, but we found him every time. Well, we've looked everywhere and I've even set out a bowl of cooked chicken liver and hard boiled egg in my room, but he hasn't come to it. IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS, PLEASE POST, I DON"T CARE HOW SILLY OR STUPID THEY MAY SEEM! Our house is kept at about 68 degrees and it will drop at night, he was very warm(I assume) when he escaped, but that has beeen hours ago. Please help! Thanks!

Mike

Leave out some water and try to set up some sort of basking area- you need to keep him healthy until you can find him. You'd be suprised the spaces they can squeeze into.

mine always crawls under the radiators when i let him loose, look for hot dark places and thats where he'll be. I agree w/meretseger, set up a bask and some h2o and i wish u the best of luck.

turn up the heat in your house...to 75 degrees maybe...and toss every room he could possibly be in...and when i say toss I mean toss! anyone who has every searched for a snake before knows what i mean. if you were planning to rearrange your house now would be a good time.

GOOD LUCK...hope you find him...

Well, I was searching all over, and then realized that his cage was raised slightly off the ground by a piece of wood, so I looked under there, and there he was! I coaxed him out with some pieces of egg (his favorite) and put him away and secured his cage. Thanks to all who replied!!
