Anyone seriously working on the albino/clown project? This is still something I'm really dying to see

Damon Feb 24, 2004 08:46 AM

I dunno what it is, but I am a DIE HARD ALBINO fan, Albinos in ANY MORPH is what really gets me excited!

What's the deal with albino CLOWNS? Does anyone know if it is possible at all? I know I asked this question before, but this had to be atleast 6+ months ago.

Was just curious if anyone had any info on this.

Hi,
We produced dbl het Albino Clowns a couple of years ago. We're breeding them together this season and with any luck we'll get some production. And with a little more luck we hopefully will produce an Albino Clown. I'll keep you posted. Thanks, Brian (BHB)

I've got Double Het. Albino Clown eggs incubating now. I think the Albino Clown will be a shocking animal and I'm very excited about working on this project. I am thinking it should have a WHITE stripe down it's back with a WHITE head pattern. Maybe the bright yellow from the Albino gene will tone down into a bright butterscotch color. Only time will tell I guess. I'm also working on the (Hypo) Ghost Clown project this year. I can hardly sleep at night I'm so excited about all these new morphs! Good luck to everyone.

Take care,
Josh Wolfe

Is anyone working on an axanthic clown? I'm thinking this might be a type of "true ghost" since the clown gene seems to make the adults hypo melanistic (of course by then the axanthic might not look so good).

Seems like there could be a lot of interesting axanthic crosses in addition to hypomelanistic that would be sort of "true ghost" like: clown, caramel, burgandy. And then there are all the pattern combos such as striped and pied. Of course if any of them turn out really nice then the price of axanthics will hold up and I'll have to wait all the longer to get one
