question and comment about Taiwan.

crom Feb 24, 2004 10:30 AM

My Taiwan has had trouble shedding so I've been soaking her and trying to raise the humidity in her cage. My question is, what's a good water temp to use when doing this? One comment I also have about my Taiwan,( and I would welcome any input)is mine is the most finicky eater I've got. This seems strange when all I've read here is how agressive they are. I have to lock her up in a dark box with a dead mouse and not make a sound or she won't eat, and then she only eats about once every two weeks. I've tryed live ones thinking that would stimulate her but thats even worse, she runs from a live one. I'm still hopeing she starts eating better soon. She seems healthy and active so maybe I just worry too much.

My experience has been when they have an aggressive feeding response it is REALLY strong, hence their reputation. However, from a colony of about 6, two of them were shy eaters who only ate in situations like you described.

Personally I liked the shy eaters because you didn't have to worry about having an 8 foot snake tagging your arm because it was moving in front of it ( :

Thanks for the reply, that's good news for me. I was afraid something was wrong with mine and she has become my "favorite" if that's a fair statement. Maybe the most interesting is more accurate.
