new frillies need help sexing

cuora-ca Feb 24, 2004 11:30 AM

I bought these 5 frillies over the weekend. #1 to #4 have been raised since hatchlings together. #5 was bought as a female. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks

Do you know about how old they are?
It is difficult to sex from photos--comparison photos might help if there is a size difference and they are over a year old (males usually start to get bigger than females by then)--but of course, they would all have to be close to the same age for that comparison...
I would GUESS
1 female
2 female
3 male
4 male
5 male
That is just a guess from the photos shown. Bigger heads by a year of age often signify males. Adult males will be bigger than adult females.
Nice color on a lot of those guys! Where did you get them?

I got them in Canada. They are all about 2-3 years old. Ill try and get a group pic of them.

I have not included #5 in this pic cause she is in quaranteen. But I am pretty sure that she is female because apparently a frillie breeder sexed her.

Again, it is hard to tell from photos, but I would guess that the one highest up on the right is a male, the others I dont know because I cannot see how broad the jaw is--maybe females? They look narrow.
#5 really looks the most like a male out of any of those photos though. But, again, it is just pics.
