I love young copperheads! I am 24 years old, and have had snakes since I was about 8 years old. I have dealt with venomous snakes in the field, but have never kept one. For the last couple of years I have been thinking of doing so though. I finally leaving Illinois (a state where the keeping of venomous snakes is illegal) and moving south to a venomous friendly state. I would love to acquire a young (preferably captive born) copperhead or a pigmy rattlesnake (dusky). Any thoughts on these species as beginner venomous spp.
