I don't know if this is weird or not...lol --Blizzards

ByRandom Feb 24, 2004 06:21 PM

Well, I've had this blizzard since he was about 3 months old. He was a pale white whenever I got him but a week or so afterwards he turned a dark purple - almost brown - and has stayed this color ever since. Is that common amongst younger blizzards, or do I have one moody little guy on my hands?

Thanks,

I honestly believe that their color is dependent on their mood, the temperatures, and the color of their substrate. Mine go anywhere from white, to yellowish white, to gray, to brown, and to purplish... and back again. The only exception to mine is Louie, my stud breeder, who pretty much stays white all the time.

Now that's white....

The only reason I even considered asking was because I've never seen one this purple. He's growing well, although he seems to have bottomed out at 45 grams, but his length has nearly tripled.

my blizzard has stayed the same purplesh white color since i got him. but my bigger male killer, has changed his color 3 times, not drasticly but u could easly tell the diff. it was cause of the substrate. i went from green sand, to reptimulch, then to white sand. plus he changed colors just from growing.

I got Louie as a baby about 4 years ago from Blizzard Lizard. At that time, they were a fairly good outfit to deal with, all blizzards were white, and they cost over $250.00 each! Things have changed since then, but Louie is the father of all of my blizzie offspring. He weighs almost 90 grams, and is as sweet as a teddy bear.
