My turn to ask a question...

Gary D. Feb 24, 2004 07:00 PM

Dispite have kept tegus past and present, I have never kept more than one at any time. Now the opportunity to get a young male red (just under a year) has been dropped on my lap. So you guys who keep multiple tegus communally, what size do you feel is acceptable to introduce a Juvi male red Arg. to a 4 year old male B&W Arg? (There is no female in the equation)

Gary.

I would not even try to introduce 2 males together let alone when they are very different sizes. My experience has been that introducing a new tegu into an established group is the hardest part. I have not been able to do it successfully yet. Even when it's an additional female. I understand that ayou have a solitary animal but I would think he would be very territorial about another male coming in. Good luck
