SLIK's become very innactive. he NEVER comes out at night anymore !! but his appetite is perfect and he "seems" healthy. could this be because of the winter season ? anyone's bp acting the same way ?

thx

mina is acting like this too...at night he comes out for mybe 10 min, or just only to go to another hideout, but he's been in his upper hideout for 3 days.he ate 2 big mice 5 days ago, 3rd one he couldn't eat anymore!
so, possible is that they are in "brumation period"
he eats and shed normally but he is less active then he was.my opinion, wait till somebody more experienced tells more!

as long as your snake is feeding and seems healthy in your opinion, i would just say its the time of year, i have three hundred or so BP's, and i am lucky to catch a glimpse of one now adays, they are either breeding, or the younger ones are in their hides.

hope this helps

My snake hasn't fed for 4 months but I've heard time and time again that's normal. He has lost about 10 grams as well. Am I wrong about this? Just want to make sure since you mentioned what you did.

most as my larger BP's have not eaten, or have only eaten sparsly since december, i still offer food, but only about every three weeks or so. All my hatchlings are still eating fine.

and even though I've read time and time again it's normal, when I see something to the contrary I make sure to find out what it means.

Thanks!!

well whn i first got my BP about 2 years ago, he was off-feed for 2 and a half months!how much does your BP weight?i think 10 grams is not very much...he's just using his supplies from body...just like people when they are on diet!
do as it was said...try offering him food every 2 or 3 weeks, when he'll be hungry enough he will eat!
are you sure he is healthy (parasite free,...)?
i hope he'll get his apetite back soon!!

He started off at 324 grams and looks fine. I just feel the need to investigate any statements that indicate it may be a problem. I'm fairly confident it's no big deal but I have my moments!!

Thanks!!
