Battling Turtles

mommahatesit Feb 24, 2004 11:17 PM

I recently acquired a second RES and before putting him in the cage with my other turtle, introduced them in the bathtub, and rearranged everything in the tank so that there would be no territory problems. But, the turtle that was there before chases the second one around, bites the tail, anything he can get a hold of. Is there any hope of friendship? Or should I move him to a different tank. Thanks for your help

You should separate them before they kill each other. If the tank is large enough you could put a divider in so they can see each other but can't hurt each other, and then try reintroducing them later.
