Advice needed...

Hi,

I will be getting an order of 0.0.5 citrus X yellow pastel and red sandfire X yellow pastel/sandfire reds on thursday. I have a few tanks available but I was wondering what to do. They are each about 6-7in. I dont know whether to house them together in a large tupperware containers with both basking and UV lamps. I really would rather not house them singularly because I am short on time at the moment. I will be getting a box of small crickets also.

Thanks,
Mike

Being babies you could house them together (I'm assuming they're brothers/sisters and have already been exposed to each other). You do run a risk of them nipping each other though. To be completely safe house them seperately, but I would almost gaurentee that they have already been living together at the breeders facility.

5 to a large bin is about what some breeders keep to a bin. The thing is separating them even into two groups would cut the odds of having nips. All you need is one aggressive baby, and one late feeding, and you have a group of nips with tails/feet nipped. Don't really see the time issue with making another bin. With such a small group you mine as well do what you can to keep them whole.

I am getting ready for a busy season. Last year I kept only 5 babies to a small bin. I was wondering what thoughts are on keeping babies in 96 qt bins. With pellets available all the time, I hope to reduce or eliminate nips. How many babies do you think can go SAFELY in a 96 qt? I am also planning on raising babies outdoors after they hit 4 weeks. right now the plan is for 2' X 4' pens keeping one clutch per pen. any thoughts on that?
