Mojave Breeding

Python Dreams Feb 25, 2004 03:55 PM

Last night I took my "Mojave" (Neo) out to watch a little "Amos and Andrew", when I thought I would let him hang out with one of his girlfriends.. Well, I wake up, flying straight out of bed, trying to get an exact mental fix on what I did with my Neo! Having horrible flashbacks of the toilet incident (old story of a near loss of Neo), I slowly piece together what happened and I find this. He never has shown interest in any of the females until now, even though when he was introduced to them, they would wag their tails around, getting all sexed up. Its Official! He has lost his virginity and now he is all grown up. It seems like yesterday that he was in diapers! Not the greatest photos, but you get the idea.
Thanks,
Tom Baker

First off, congrats on your mojave breeding! On a side note, I think that tail-lashing may be a sign that the female is not receptive. I saw this in one of my small females when introduced to a male and she wouldn't breed. Perhaps your females are now receptive so he can do his job.

I have seen the tail whipping quite a few times from my females and always resulted in breeding, except with him. That does sound like a possibility though.. It would also be possible that the other males forced themselves on the females regardless of their tail whipping. I really don't have too much experience with this though... I would love to hear some other opinions also!
Thanks, Tom Baker
