I'd have to go with Chris on this...though the red on the body has me wondering. The head and neck markings are right on.

Definetly a Checkered Keelback snake.
I am going to guess that is what the other people said. I just don't know the scientific names for snakes. As I imagine most people don't.
Why fill my brain with MORE junk? It's already overloaded as it is! LOL

Someone told me it might be the venoumus Rhabdophis tigrinus How can i tell if it is Xenochrophis piscator or Rhabdophis tigrinus
Now someone says Nerodia fasciata to.??
I) need to know if its a venoumus snake..
(have experience with venoumus no worrys)

It doesnt look like R. tigrinus to me, but if it is, for christ's sake dont hold it like that! Unless of course you want ot bleed out of every orrifice before you die...

Well how about for starteers,.,.where was it found? What country? What was the habitat? Anything that could help to distiguish between the others. Still going on Keelback. But wouldnt want to take a huge risk on it.

It definitely looks like a X. piscator or Rhabdophis tigrinis. You will want to find out for sure. R. tigrinus has caused human fatalities!
