I purchased him about three weeks ago and noticed today he has a pea sized bump on his face rite behind his nose.
if anyone can tell me what this is and how to treat it that would be a great help.
thanks

thats really interesting...have you looked inside the mouth to see if theres an infection in there? is it still eating?
I have not looked in his mouth yet and he is not eating.
You don't necessarily even have to open the mouth (if you do be very careful not to scratch it, rolling a plastic pen can work). Look from above and below and watch for puffy gums or a non-symetrical head or jaw. If everything looks good then you may have to look inside to be sure but the swollen lip can clue you in without the stress of prying a sore mouth open.
I have one with a similar bump right now (not quite as big though).
He suddenly got mouth rot this summer, not sure why as I thought my temps where fine. Maybe he got bit by a rat. I cranked the temp up a little more but it didn't improve as quick as I expected so I took him to the vet who prescribed antibiotics. He still didn't clear up so my vet lanced the abscess and tried a different kind of antibiotics. The mouth rot then cleared up but he is left with a small bump in the same place as yours (sinus I believe). Not sure if it's ever going to go away but he has been eating great since as soon as the mouth cleared up.
I checked the inside of his mouth and it looks fine nice and pink no sign of infection or mouth rot.
the bump itself is soft like it is filled with fluid.
any ideas.
I suppose it might be some kind of infection. Perhaps your vet will want to drain it and prescribe antibiotics, not sure.
this could be a sinus tumor/abscess...and infection possibly caused from the residual effects of the stomatitis infection. It could also be an external abscess from a live prey bite? it will probably cost quite a bit but i would get yer baby to a qualified vet asap. If it is a sinus abscess and the infection spreads, it could infect the brain and you could lose yer snake.
i would say go to vet, might need to be lanced. i had a ball that had a bump just like that in the same place but it was much larger ( he was a rescue and we got him like that). it was a simple absess but by the time we got him it had completely deformed his face. we had surgery performed serveral times, blood work, biopsy and a long regiment of antibiotics, but in the end we had to put him down it had just taken over to much of his face. i say all this to say, the vet felt if he had been treated when it was small and not involving so much of his face she would have been able to remove all affected tissue and he would have been fine. i'm not trying to scare ya, but i would not put off getting it looked at and treated.
