Duct tape and a ball python - Help!

aheinric Feb 25, 2004 07:17 PM

Hi

My ball python, Poe, managed to pull off the peice of duct tape I had holding the cord of his heating pad to the side of his aqarium and now he has a small bit stuck to him. It looks like its really stretching his skin. He's still happy and active but he needs to eat and I'm afraid the rat will tear his skin.

Any ideas on how to get it off? Or should I just leave it until he sheds - only he just finished shedding!

Thanks,
Anneliese.

Use mineral oil. You can get it cheap in the pharmacy sections of grocery stores. Be sure to wash it off really well at the end.

A tad bit of vegtable oil may help as well. Like he said, just wa[bleep] off when you are done. Shouldn't hurt him.
Good luck!
