The best of the best??

VAReptileRescue Feb 25, 2004 08:24 PM

OK, folks, I see lots of posts by lots of people on here, and it made me start wondering - who are the best of the best in boa breeders?? Dave and Tracy are the python royalty, but who would you folks consider the King (or Queen) of boas?? I would think there are different "top" notches for morphs as well as localities... So, let's hear it - who gets your vote as the best??

Ther are a few of them, Pete Kahl is definately one. Doug Matuzack sp?, Rich Ihle, and Jeremy Stone are a couple others. As for locality breeder no one in the US does better than Gus Rentfro. There are alot of succesful boa breeders out there, I have bought boas from most of them and plan on buying from the rest. To me the breeder who enjoys it the most and produces the nicest babies consistently is Jeff Ronne. He started selectively breeding boas, and has made every morph he has gotten ahold of nicer. Here's a Hogg produced by Jeff.

In my opinion, or better said, for my list, the best of the best are judged for overall performance - years, quality, results...

I would have to say (and this is for bci only )
Sorry if I left any out...

Jeff Ronne
Tom Burke
Gus Rentfro
Basically Boas
Tim Frazier
Bill Parks
Jeff Gee
Rich Ihle
Boawoman
Doug Matuszak

For BCC I would have to say..
sorry if I left any out...

Bill Cagle
Derek Yagi
Joe Terry
Bill Parks
Jeff Ronne
Rob Tudehope
late/great Lloyd Llemke
Gus Rentfro
Barry Miller

In my opinion, these are the vets and greats of their worlds..

Sure several people out there import great animals, or have produced great animals 1 or 2 or even 4 years... but my list accounts for experience, consistency, quantity and quality.

Thanks and take care - Joe
