Has anyone else ever caught their leo sitting in their food/calcium dish? I've walked in my room a couple of times and caught him in there...Tonight I managed to snap a couple of pics before he went in his hide. Thanks for replies in advance.

My calcium dishes are really tiny so none of my geckos fit inside it lol (i feed mealies in a larger bowl). My crested gecko, however, scared the heck out of me one day. I couldn't find him anywhere....until i looked inside his dish.....there he was curled up. I use the containers from Petsmart that i got their mealworms in....before i found a supplier online. The containers are cool, deep enough for the mealies not to escape and apparently cozy. Zeek sleeps in it alot.

I really like the second pic. Nice setup. My female geckos take turns on one of the humid hides under a second level that i built....the container just fits under it when about a two inch space. The girls seem to like small spaces to be in.

He probably likes the feel/temp/texture of the calcium. I would not worry about it too much, unless he starts to go the bathroom in there! I you do not like it just get a smaller container. I use lids from milk containers for my calcium dishes. All my leos eat from them just fine.
