Congrats on the new boa! Yes, they are addictive (have 6 of them myself *grin*). I don't recommend housing them together, especially not at first. All new acquisitions should be quarantined in separate enclosures (and preferably in another room) for a minimum of three to six months prior to being placed with other animals in your collection. If a separate room isn't feasible, a separate cage is a must. Sometimes diseases or parasites aren't immediately obvious and you need the quarantine period to be sure there are no problems. And yeah, I learned that the hard way early on.
They have a slow metabolism and shouldn't be fed frequently (neonates & juveniles every 10-14 days, adults every 3-4 weeks) because you'll simply end up with obese snakes. With that slower metabolism is slower growth and fewer sheds. My older two animals I've had since 2002 and they've only shed a couple of times each, the neonate I got last summer has shed once - maybe twice, and I just added the last three this past weekend. So basically, they don't shed often and they grow fairly slowly compared to my other snakes. Hope this helps. Look forward to seeing your pics.
