fiona's eggs

restlesswind444 Feb 26, 2004 01:22 AM

alright so i put fionas eggs in a makeshift incubator that is at a constant 84.4 degrees, im going for random sex, the incubator works great actually, its one tupperware in another with water on the bottom (the top one is floating) w/ 2-3'' of water beneath it, and the whole unit on a heat pad with a thermometer probe right between the eggs and the display mounted to my wall so i always know the temp, my girlfriend has my digi or id post pics...so now how long until she should lay some more eggs? 2 weeks? should i put her back with the male or let her be alone? she will retain sperm right? and finally how do u tell if an egg is fertile when u candle it?...ok and wait, albey says to mark eggs w/ a black sharpie...is this safe?
thanks again to all who read and/or post replies, this is my first clutch of eggs and its all new to me so thank u
chris
in the picture dad is up top and mom is on the right....any thoughts on what the babies will look like?

You can tell they're fertile by candleing them, if there is a faint orange circle on the top with pinkish red veins around it, you need to mark the eggs on the top to know which side is up and which side is down just incase they happen to roll over, im not sure about putting the female back with the male..this can stress her out and could possibly lead to an early death from over breeding, if marking the eggs wasn't safe albey would'nt tell you to do it
