Running water in a turtle cage?

ViewAskewMike Jun 09, 2003 10:35 PM

I have a chinese box turtle and 30 gallon tank. She loves to drink right out of the faucet in the sink when I hold her up. How could I go about installing or building a small waterfall type thing in her cage? Where it just keeps recycling the same water. I think she would like it a lot, but is it possible? Thanks.

You could get one of the cheaper aquarium filters
(I've got a Topfin 10 gal one that cost about $15, I think).
Water gets sucked up a tube then spits out a trough at
the top. I don't know what your setup is like so I
can't tell you how to rig it but it should be self explanatory.

I know what you mean about the running water. My female
boxie loves to drink the moving water from a hose lying on the
ground. She prefers it to her bathing dish and will sometimes
try to "swim" against the current of the running water.

i'm not sure if you could figure out a way to mod this idea to ur cage, but i found this not too long ago.... You could try the pump idea on this site at one end of your cage, it seems big enough, http://forums.kingsnake.com/reply.php?action=reply&id=36652,36652&catid=30
