Tomorrow...... Harry will leave us.

HD Feb 26, 2004 09:10 AM

Many of you probably did not know Harry since it has been a few years since I've been active on this forum; but I thought for those who do remember Harry, I would let them know that he will be leaving us on Friday.

We found out a few days ago that Harry is in renal shut-down and most likely has cancer in his spine. From blood work and xrays it's been determined that there is no hope of treatment for him.

My heart is extremely heavy..........I will miss him more than words can say.

Signed,

Harry's Dad

It is always a very difficult decision, but in the long run
it is what is best for him. It is your last act of love
for him to prevent any suffering.

I'm so sorry HD. Harry is truly one-of-a-kind. Even in the ig world where they are ALL one-of-a-kinds, Harry has always stood out.
I always kind of imagined the Harry stories in a children's book - showing that monsters can be lovable. With titles such as "Harry and The Magic Strawberry Nutrigrain Bars".
I do miss the Harry stories, and like they say - all good things must come to an end ... I guess all horrible must as well. It is sad to know that there will be no new Harry stories.
Perhaps you will have a chance to finall give him a kiss.

My sincerest condolences to you and Sue2.

Wendy

I am so sorry to hear of your plight. Sometimes the best things in your life bring the worst circumstances, but when you look back at all of the once in a lifetime memories left you know it's worth the pain now. God bless.

Jeff, I feel like I've known you, Sue2, and Harry for a long time. I'm am so terribly sorry to hear about Harry. My thoughts are with you during your final act of kindness for Harry. We, too, are losing our old man iguana, Zig. He's been with us longer than I've known you and is just "old" and giving up the ship. I'm keeping him comfortable until I feel he no longer has any quality of life and then will provide him with the same relief that you are for Harry. Lots of big hugs coming your way. Please give my best to Sue.

Reading this message makes my heart heavy. It is always difficult to lose a friend to somethig so horrible to cancer. REmember the time you had with him, it will help the grief, and remember that his pain will be gone soon. You will see him again over the rainbow bridge. I am sorry for you loss.

I never had the opportunity to meet Harry. I wish I had been there for the Harry stories and pictures. I am sorry for your loss and offer my condolences.

PHFaust Feb 27, 2004 07:38 PM

My condolences. We have 2 iguanas here that are in different stages of renal failure. A 14 year old female in mid-late stages, and an older male in begining stages. As long as they are eatting, pooping and acting normal they have a home with us.

Should you need it there are pet loss chats available here on Pethobbyist. I will also make sure that Harry gets added to the pets that left us candle list.

Deepest sympathies.

I'm so sorry He had the best life you could have given him, and soon he'll be basking in a tree at the rainbow bridge, waiting for you.

Hey Harry, remember me? It's lesya, aka Tmom, Aysel, from a few years ago. I just stopped by for old time's sake and saw this.

My dearest condolences go out to you! Harry was a famous boy around these parts back then. My thoughts are with you.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
