Hi, I'm a little new at being a snake owner, so please bear with me. I just bought a Grey Banded Kingsnake. She's absolutly beautiful!!! Anyway, she's just a yearling and only just a little over a foot long. She was curling around my steering wheel in my car yesterday (I had a hold of her), while I was showing her to someone. I had her in my hand. Anyway, she got scared and started crawling inside my steering wheel column. I didn't want her to get lost in there, so I pulled her out. Once she got inside my arms and warm, she was fine. Anyway, she got some scars from it. It looks like scrapes, maybe a few scales came off. It really doesn't look bad at all and she's been just as sweet as pie when I take her out, but she's been sleeping a lot. Now, I'm not sure if that's just the baby thing to do or if she's hurt more than I think. My friend that worked for an exotic vet said she'd be fine and to put a little Neosporin on it and she'd be fine. So, why is she sleeping is my question ... is she scared? is she still getting used to the new home? is she just being a typical baby snake? I feel SO bad - you have no idea!!! I just want to make sure she's ok.
