Weird feeding response- slow and loose constriction

Luckiefool420 Feb 26, 2004 04:09 PM

For about the past three months my snake has only been eating about half the time. She ate today, it has been about three weeks when she last ate and that was just one mouse.I first tried a live one but every time it got close she got scared of it and hid her head.Next i tried stunning the mouse. the mouse wasn't dead just shaking every once in awhile. Well my snake came up to it bit it near the head and slowly layed her body on top of it. Over about a 5 minute period she slowly works her body around it, this whole time with the mouse still alive and kicking every once in a while. The hold was realy loose and was not even constricting the mouse. The she did give the mouse a squeeze but it just didn't look like it was anywhere near as tight as other times (the mouse was almost dead so it didn't need much). It really was wierd to see. What do you think is the problem? She is about 10 months old, weighed 236 before eating the mouse, humidity is good, warm side stays in the low 90's cool side gets down to around 75 at the lowest. She stays on the cool side ™ of the time. i rarely see her in her warm hide or on that side. Thanks for any help
