not sure about where they live. If they live in the african savvanna. for substrate get some tan repti-carpet, and find some dead grasses from your local garden center strerlize those and place them on the repticarpet. You could buy a savvana looking background. not sure about anyting else though.

Pixies come from Africa, yes. They are found around pools of water in the rainy season, burrowing under the ground and estivating during the dry season for up to two years if they must, until it rains again.

A tank would need to be the size of at least a 20 gallon, but the larger the better. They aren't particularly active, but they do need space. Any plants or decorations you place inside will more than likely be demolished by the frog unless they are very sturdy, so I would just go for some fake rock formations (http://www.webspace4me.net/~mikehill/pages.aux/pond/recipes.html).
You could start by making a built-in pool inside the tank with fake rock, and make a hole at the bottom of the pool and seal a piece of pvc for drainage. Then perhaps throw more fake rock formations on the walls of the cage. Place about 3-4 inches of Bed-A-Beast substrate at the bottom for burrowing, and throw in some natural rock hides, either store-bought ones or ones you make yourself from the fake rock recipes.

These are just considerations. The possibilities are limited only to your imagination, and common sense of course. I have a Pixie myself and may do something similar to what I've described. I'll be sure and post any pics if or when I get to it.
