Food for thought on Yellow anacondas....

Bammer Jun 09, 2003 11:24 PM

I was searching through the forum listing and recently discovered this cool, new anaconda forum. I am a huge Boa Fan. Boas from south america are my favorite, but pretty much all boas are my favorite. Boa-wise... I have 3 Colombian Boa Constrictors and one Kenyan Sand Boa. I am going to get a pair of Amazon tree boas in 3 weeks.

I have always been interested in Anacondas and especially to yellows due to thier smaller size. I just wanted to know how big the majority of yellows get.

I have also been reading some of your posts and realize that at least one of you keeps adult yellow anacondas. How big of an enclosure would you keep one in?

Last question, How are they related to boas? I was thinking about it... They are live bearers, constrictors... They are in the Boide family, am i right?

I would love to get a yellow, but I realize the responsibility they require and I am not ready for that LARGE commitment. Just food for thought to get my curious mind. Thanks in advance.

Food for thought on Boa c.constrictor.
Some races of B.c.c. get as big as Yellow Anacondas, or bigger.
Is that a monster tail, or a monster with a tail?

WOW! Big Snake! I do realize that some b.c.c. get quite big... but my boas are b.c.i., I realize that they get big too (8ft-10ft, or so I am told). My biggest female is only 6 ft... my boas are all still growing...

I just wanted to ask some questions on yellow anacondas. Thank you for that marvelous pic. Do you know which locality that is? I know that Guyanas get big and have some Monster tails... Beautiful snake. Thanks for the reply.

Andacondas are in the boa family, more closely related to Boa constrictor than, say, a KSB would be.
