Sexing kings?

msudiverbabe Jun 09, 2003 11:57 PM

Hey! I've had a king for a little over 2 months, now, but I don't know what sex he/she is. I'd really like to have this info without being charged by a vet to examine him/her for me. I've heard that you can tell by the shape of their tails or something like that. If this is true, or if there's some other way, could you please let me know? Thanks a bunch!

The tail shape thing seems a lot more obvious in older snakes than it does in baby ones, so if you can't tell by the shape yet, you should be able to in time. I have an eastern who's a few years old and you can tell she's female from a mile away. Other than that, the vet's the way to go. Wouldn't it be easier if they just had spurs?
