Hey Jeff,

I don't even have my blood yet but have been doing a lot of research. I saw Angel had mentioned it may take 11-14 days for a blood to shed out. Sounds like you're on about day 11 or 12.

Well, for what it's worth, with my ball python, for the first 2 sheds it went through, I never noticed a change in it's skin what so ever. Just give it a few more days and maybe you'll be surprised with a shed. Until then I wouldn't worry about it.

I know I have 0 experience with bloods but I also have a pretty good idea of who has a lot of experience on this forum and I think you can trust the advice you've gotten thus far. And if a blood is anything like my ball when I first got him, you may have missed the change in his skin.

I know how ya' feel and I hope this helps ease your mind a bit.

Take care,

Here is an example of the record card I use to keep track of all my critters. I mark whenever their eyes go cloudy & when they finally shed, and it gives me a good idea of what to expect from each animal's shed cycle over a period of time. It's also not a bad idea to keep track of feeding, defecation, etc. When you have a solid idea of what's "normal" for your snake, it helps you recognize when/if something is out of order.

If you'd like a copy of this, just let me know - I can send it to you in Word, Excel or a .jpg format.

Good luck with your baby!

Sorry I've been busy all weekend! Thanks for the record card Kara, I'll be using that from now on!

You snake seems fine sometimes they seem to keep the blue in their eyes until they shed while there body goes blue and then gets clear again. Just make sure his humidity is fine and maybee throw in a moist rag to help him shed.

My female has been in shed since the 2nd of february and yesterday her eyes went clear. She has been in shed for like 3 and a half weeks. My youngest male on the other hand takes less than a week but the younger ones usually take less time.
don't worry.
