More problems with CWD

I feel so bad for this little guy. He is no longer rubing his nose sence I put him in the wire enclosure but now he has stoped eating. He has not taken any prey in over a week. He will sit on his branch and look at the food moving around but wont go after it any ideas? Also he is not even atempting to shed himself. I had to soak him today and use a Qtip to get most of the skin off. I also noticed he has these sores in diferent places from his tail to his head dose this have anything to do with the lack of sheding himself? During the soaking and asisted sheding proccess one sore right neer his right ear cam off and it looks like a little cut just under his ear. I so much want to help this little guy nbut just dont know were to go from here. I will not be able to get into the vet untill Tuesday at the earlyest so I would greatly apreciate any help you guys can give me to help him out untill then. Thanks a million.

Ive heard everywhere that assisting them with sheding is really bad. It can mess up the new skin beneath. Maybe the screen isnt keeping in enough humidity or heat? My dragon was nose rubbing a bit. I put a ton of sticks and climbing things in his cage and he's entertained now. Also, I got window screens to darken the glass. I put them on the bottom where he usually runs back and forth. He doesnt really do it anymore. When he does, I let him out. Also, he wont take food from me anymore. I dont know why. I put a tin of meal worms with some juvenile iguana petstore food in his cage. I think he eats. Im pretty sure cuz he's always fat.

Also, try lettuce or paprika or bananas. I know mine sometimes will taste a bit of that. Once I accidentally dropped a bit of bannana into his water dish and he went nuts diving for it. Im going to try fish next week.

I read 5 general lizard books before work today and learnd a little bit but not much. 1st of all. I believe I am actualy providing him with to much humidity and that is why he is developing the soars. 2nd of all. Lettus has little to no nutritional value and should be avoided. I looked realy close and found his basking area over 105F I lowerd it by replacing the 100W bulb with a 60W one. Now its about 90 in the basking area. I also provided a heat pad under the cage to help keep the temps about the same at night to aid him just in case it is a resperatory infection. Anyone ells want to take a crack at it. I am going to try to force feed him tomorow as his bnones are now showing and I know thats not a good sign at all. GRRRR If only he was as easy to diognose as my big bad green iguana he he hee.

hey, great that you're fixing it up. I know lettuce isnt that nutritional. Its just food. Have you tried worms? Also, I read that you can put some calcium powder in your spray bottle or in the water dish and it will soak in through the lizards skin. I suppose you could also do the same with vitamin supplements.
Ive also read that people will feed their wds baby food. It might be good if he's really weak. Havent tried it though.

He did not take to the babby food at all. I am told by the local pet store that I am most likly fighting a losing battle. They say he dose noit look like he will get beter from this and unfortunaly I have been dealing with this pet store for years and they realy know there stuff. I guess all I can do now is keep a close eye on him untill his doctor apointment on Tuesday.

That sux. Well, another thing I heard is that you can soak a wounded wd in betdadine(?) if that's what its called. It prevents infections. Also, you can apply ointment like neosporin to the wounds. But I just read all this second hand. If you want to try it put some betadine in some hand warm water and soak him in it. Then apply the neosporin. Also, make sure he's drinking. Mine will lick the water off its nose when the nose is wet.

I dont know what else to say. I really hope the doctor can do something for you.

If its really young, maybe its just freaked out and needs some time to itself. Maybe put food and water in the cage, make sure the temps and humidity are right, and let him get some rest.
