AMERICAN JUNGLE MOM....more...

BCAGLEREPS Feb 27, 2004 02:17 PM

I'M NOT REALLY INTO NAMES OR GENETICS. A MAN MADE NAME MEANS VERY LITTLE; I PERSONALLY THINK THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING. HERE IS A PIC OF THE MOTHER, OF MY "AMERICAN JUNGLES." THEY ARE GENETIC FOR THIS,SEE PIC BELOW. I KEPT A BABY THAT IS A CARBON COPY OF HER MOM. IT'S OBVIOUS THAT A FEW OF YOU PEOPLE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE NAME, THE BOAS, OR POSSIBLY ME. TO THOSE OF YOU HAVING THIS PROBLEM, TOO BAD. I HAVE TALKED WITH BOTH CUSTOMERS THAT PURCHASED THESE ANIMALS, GRAY RUSHIN AND JOE ROLLO IN THE LAST FEW DAYS. THEY ARE BOTH VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR PURCHASE, AND THAT'S WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO ME. THEY CAN NAME THEM ANYTHING THAT THEY WOULD LIKE, I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT A NAME.

and we can talk about this more if we ever get a chance to talk on the phone.
Who did you buy these from? I may not be understanding this post OR the many others, ut I gather that you got these form someone else who worked with them.

It isnt very often that you see a completely normal patterned boa passing on their normal pattern genetics to their babies in almost carbon copy form. Keep up the good work, and keep us posted. These are gonna be huge.

A PICTURE PAINTS A THOUSAND WORDS.

DaveyFig Feb 27, 2004 06:28 PM

Is that supposed to be the carbon copy? The mother looks nothing like that. Maybe in color, but jungle is a pattern morph. I don't understand your post. The mother is clearly not jungle, and adding an aberant baby pic doesn't do much to add credit to your story about it being genetic.

I don't think anyone is saying these animals are ugly. Heck, I'd love to own one. But, THAT is not a Jungle!!!! And, calling it an "American Jungle" doesn't make any difference. Be origional.......Make up your own name for the bloodline!

Wonderful animals. I just don't like what you are calling them. It is some what missrepresenting......plain and simple.

I am not going to go through everything I did last week, but I will explain this.
"Jungles" are an existing GENETIC morph that already exist under that name. The problem is that they are VERY pricey and by calling something else a 'jungle' it can confuse those that are not up to speed on morphs, what they are, and how they are created. The existing genetic "jungle" that we know to exist already are 2-4 TIMES what Bill is asking. Now, if someone sees those and loves them, then see what Bill has at a FRACTION of the price, they would think they are getting a good deal on the same. This is just my thought on it. I do not think Bill is selling them as the "jungles" we all know to exist, but it very well could create a problem if someone thinks they are buying something that will produce a snake that looks like the "jungles" we have seen for sale and on this very forum.

NO offense, but I would think you fall right into that category by asking this question. There is clearly a difference between "jungles" and what Billis selling.

I do not know the genetics behind it, Bill and I have been playing phone tag with him calling me today and missing me and me callinghim last week and missing him. I am VERY interested in learning all I can about the snake. They ARE neat looking, but the name can be confusing to the nieve.
With all that said, Bill does appear to have a snake that has a VERY intense genetic redness to it. I LOVE the snake and have made that clear.
Anyway, you all have fun with this, I will wait to talk to Bill.
