Loggerheads are native to warm water springs and creeks that are unpolluted in Florida. These particular springs/creeks are normally around 74-76 degrees. You'll want to have a basking area as well for it that can reach 90 degrees.

Yes I agree. I usually like to keep hatchlings in warmer water. I dont think "how low can I keep the water" is a good thing to be basing the temp on. If you dont have a heater, get one. I reccomend an Ebo-Jager. Also, most look over the idea in putting a basking area in for musks, but they do bask. They actually bask very often so make sure you have one in it's setup.
