Repost -RESCUE

Hi All:
I rescued a dragon about 4 & 1/2 months old now who I thought was a girl. Named her Bent because of the tail which has a normal part going down about 3/4 of an inch than turns at a right angle. Well it looks like Bent is a male. The question is Bent able to mate when he is full grown, or should I never even try. He is yellow with orange diamonds on his back so he is a beautiful dragon no matter his deformaty. Being a rescue makes him special also. Either answer will not affect his importance to me, as well as, the fact that what sex he/she is not important. But I would like to Know if he is able to mate? I was told that the tail kink was caused by uneven incubation temps. I would like to continue his line because of his color, personality, etc. but do not want to chance passing along bad DNA

Without a vet workup and pics to understand better the history of the dragon it's pretty impossible to tell. You need to find the "true cause" of the bent tail. It could be a calcium defficiency, genetic problem, or possibly like you said a problem with incubation. Having said that, if there is anything "genetically" wrong with the dragon I would have reservations about breeding him because there are already a lot of dragons out there being bred that shouldn't be due to health issues.

Physically I would say yea he should be able to do it bc the tail will not really effect his breeding as long as he is able to use it to help balance and twist to hold the female... but again I would seriously consider not breeding any dragon with deforms due to it might genetically be weaker.
