Black Racer 1st pic

Found this little snake in the bushes hunting anoles outside of work in Tampa, FL. I've spotted it numerous times over the past couple months but finally got a camera in the right place at the right time.

Very co-operative subject- froze in position and let me get within 6 inches of it. All it took was a little sun and a lot of anoles!

Saw this guy only once but he was a good size (approx 10-11" ) . Also in Tampa, FL outside of the building I was working in.

Nice Lora. There are quite a few aren't there? At any given time, there may be 3-4 in the hedges around the pool where I work. Most have become accustomed to my "close encounters" with my little digi cam. and only flee if I move suddenly. I have to get a pic of one feeding. I happen to think it's great that they've done so well feeding on the brown anoles.

You guys are lucky. Living in Arizona, you don't see snakes like this around work. The snakes you would see, would be ground snakes or the occasional kingsnake or gophersnake.

I'm still waiting for the time to get out there and find something out cruising.

For now I've been hiking, but I haven't turned up anything in the area of snakes. Beautiful utas though.
