All normal phase?

Shadowmonkey01 Jun 10, 2003 04:27 AM

I am kinda new at this so please be patient. I was wondering if I breed two different phases of corns together( ghost and a snow for example)will all the babies be normal but Het. for both ghost and snow. Or will I get some that look like the parents and some that are Het? I started reading about it in a book I have but it seems pretty complicated.I just can't understand how it's possible for two morphs to create a normal if that is the case.

It depends on what type of morphs you breed together. If you breed two animals that aren't homozygous or heterozygous for the same trait, you will get all normals.

However, in your example, a snow and a ghost, you would get all anerys het for albino and hypo. This is because both the snow and the ghost are homozygous anery.
