Petco comment line phone #

buffysmom Feb 27, 2004 11:12 PM

I got a phone number to call Petco to encourage them to take their leos off sand. I called & they were friendly, but felt that "the literature" supports keeping adults leos on sand. I'm sure more phone calls w/ calm, polite, factual encouragement wouldn't hurt in getting them to change back to astroturf, which they used to use. I encouraged them to switch to Repticarpet, which they also sell, as it'd be safer for the animals & would encourage customers to buy Repticarpet from them. The # is 888-824-7257. Please call if you'd like to try to impact their sand for leos policy.

The real problem isn't adult leos on sand...its babies on sand, ill, half-dead, and dead leos, no humid hides, new babies and older leos being kept in the same enclosure, filthy set ups...and I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting... Right now we don't need to complain about them keeping adult leos on sand...we need to complain about the other stuff...

I'm a wuss and hate calling people...I wouldn't know what to say...lol I'm just saying that the substrate adult leos are kept on shouldn't really be the key concern until all the serious stuff like leaving dead animals in the cages in some stores is taken care of.

Hi

I wasn't to happy, I was just at a local petco last week, and they used to keep there L. geckos on that stuff that looks like rabit pellet food, but it's not, and well anyways I was in there last week and they just switch there tanks to calci-sand, including the baby's.
