I have read all over that the ideal size for a breeder male is 4' and about 3lbs. I have a 7' 25lb female that i want him to breed. Being 7' and 10lb is the male to large? What are the downsizes to a larger male?

The general idea is a 'young bucking stud' as opposed to an 'old lazy slug' .. lol ..
He should be fine, especially considering her size..
If he doesn't seem interested, you can try a younger male or throw one in and see if he 'wakes up' .. lol

In my experience I've found lager males (not fat) to be much better breeders then smaller younger males. I had an 18 month old 3.5' male I tryed to breed one season. He was able to court the female but he never got the job done, it was like he wasn't sure what he was doing. Two years later at 6.5' & almost 4 years old the same male bread 2 females in a 4 months time. You have to think alot of males stop eating that whole time. It's been my experience that small males (3-4') just don't have the size to go the whole season without eating & stay healthy enough to beable to do it all over again next season.
