Argantine Tegu Question

Hey,
I was woundering how long a 50gal aqaurium would last for a hatchling Agantine tegu, before it outgrows it?

im sorry to say it wont last him too long the grow like weeds ,i mean fast i just resently built a 6 foot by 3foot by 3foot and hes almost 3 foot long and i got him in august2003 ....so good luck

Wow he is nice!
I have ridge tail monitors and an Argus, would you recomend getting one of these beuties? How does your handle being in captivity? Are they as aggresive eaters as monitors? Does he let you handle him or are they purely display? I have plenty of room to build an enclosure, so space isnt a problem.

Mine seem quite content being in captivity. They hardly ever try to get out and always go back in the cage after they've been out awhile provided they can get there. They are very good about being handled and are quite trustworthy. Their eating response usually isn't as aggressive as a monitor.

I'd say three to four months at most. My boy was 43 inches long at six months of age.
