There is a small stock brokerage here in Portland, OR. filled to the brim (well, maybe 50 now)with people without educations.
When I was in highschool, I was told that I better go to a school so that I could support myself oneday, make more money, have things, etc. I said, OK.
But then, I realized something. Education as we understand it teaches us about certain things. I apply those certain things from my education in my understanding of texts, but not at work. hmmmm? Now maybe if I become a psychologist, maybe I can apply my education that I had once started.
Back to the brokerage. I met a guy named George (actual name). He was kicked out of college for not showing up to class. He was homeless and using drugs constantly. He then said, "I am either running off to Hollywood, or I will be a successful stock broker"
George makes roughly 6 times Sam's and Jeff's salary combined. In many months those boys at the brokerage make a hundred grand a month.
So, what is the point of education?
I still don't know, but I did leave the brokerage to get more educated. I guess I found it more valuable to be able to help my kid with his homework than to buy him a beamer.
QUESTION: if I use 1/2" how much time does it take for the heat exchange to be worse off than using 2" insulation? 12, 16 hours better? What If I use a 24 hour heat pack as opposed to a 40?
Off to my grad school apps, I am feeling more stupid everyday.
as a matter of fact, my monitors are also making me feel more stupid, I found a clutch of ackie eggs in a dirt clod at the bottom of the cage where I thought I had checked when it wasn't a clump.

Really though, it all depends on what you DO with your education. I really do admire both types of people though. The guy who plugs away and gets his doctorate, as well as the highschool drop out, ex drug fiend, who discovers his hidden talents and ends up a billion-aire. They are both worthy, and "smart" in their own ways.
