Lucky's Rescue.......

Gregz Jun 10, 2003 07:09 AM

I am the Maint. Supervisor for 75 apartments here in Ohio and yesterday I got a call from my boss that said she had a tennant skip town and the house has been empty for over a month she wanted me to go check for damages. When I got there I could not believe my eyes there was a ball(about 1yr old) in a 5 gallon cage, no water, no heat, no hide not even a substrate. It was disgusting. I decided to bring him/her home. I have 2 other balls that I have had since babies and they are now 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 years old and doing great. After I got home I checked him/her out and found 2 ticks (sucessfully removed) and it has a wheeez when breathing it sounds like a high pitched whistle ( maybe Resp. infection?) I put it in a nice warm enclosure and I am callin the vet today to get it in. Sorry for babbling but I have found alot of things people have left behind and as sad as it is this has been my best find yet and to the people that dumped this ball if you happen to read this shame on you an BALL PYTHONS ARE NOT DIISPOSABLE PETS!
Thanks for lisening Gregz

Man, how sad! I'm glad it has a good home now. Just be careful to keep it away from your others for now. I know that I am probably telling you something you already know but it had to be said

I, too, have rescued a couple of snakes, who were living in similar conditions. For years. I can't begin to say how much this enrages me! Come on people!
Bless your heart for taking him/her in, and offering another chance for a good home to this snake. I don't believe it's coincidence that you happen to be the one who found it!

Best of luck!
