More advice about Sara....

Okay, as some of you have read, I have been following the vet's advice. However, trying to keep her warm has become a challenge. She refuses to stay in her hide, everytime I go away and come back she is in her waterbowl, which is half filled with water, and feels very cold. Is she trying to tell me something? Has anyone seen this behavior?

but could it be too hot? and she is trying to cool down by sitting in the water bowl?
also does she have a muid hide?? could she be going into shed and her skin very dry and no where else but the water bowl to make the itchies go away????

just some thoughts

1) How long has she been doing this, sorry if you answered this in a previous post. She may just be getting ready to shed, soaking up some extra moisture.

2) Possibly the mites are in your enclosure or they are in with your feeders. She is trying to get rid of them in the water bowl? I wouldn't worry about her in the bowl though I men she won't sit there until it gets to be a health fator.

If you think it might be mites do the following:

- Get a film canister
- Poke small mite size holes in the lid
- Stick a dead crix or mealie in the canister
- Take vasaline and coat the sides of the canister
- Place in your enclosure, or with your feeders

MITES CHECK IN THEY DON'T CHECK OUT

Hope this helps,

Tim
