How do I clean cruddy aquarium to prepare for tree frogs???

ekpunobi Jun 10, 2003 07:21 AM

I just purchased 2 aquariums from a tropical fish breeder who was out of business. They are pretty cruddy, but are solid and hold water. I rinsed them out and tried to clean the glass with glass cleaner, but they are still pretty dirty. Any ideas as to how to clean these and make them usable?? It will take me a while to prepare the terrarium the way I want to, so it will be at least a few months before I am ready to put frogs in there. Will any cleaning chemicals be gone by then???

Also, I am interested in the White's to start with. I have seen different colors in them. Are they all pretty much the same care-wise??? Or are the more exotic colors more difficult to maintain?

TIA,
Laura

Try straight vinegar and a razor blade, but watch out for the silicone seams. Rinse well and dry.
