Death in the family

Visahari Feb 28, 2004 05:29 PM

This morning my my female Indian Vine Snake(A.prasina) died. She was 58inches long, powder blue belly with blue-green sides. It was an odd passing, she was a great eater with a fiesty attitude. Im not shure what the cause of death was, but i would guess either old age or a fecal compaction. Im not shure what to do with the body, but at the moment Im leaning towards perfusing her with a glucaraldehyde fixative and perserving her in a vessel or embedding her in some sort of resin. In her passing she left one giant anole alive in her enclosure, with her death she gave it the gift of life. She will be missed.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. My condolences.

I hope the preservation project goes well. I'd be interrested to see how it turns out.
