Hi, I just bought a PacMan and have him set up in a 10 gal. with bed-a-beast. When it refers to the temps that they should be kept at, where do I measure? Is it the air temps, or the surface of the substrate or somewhere else. Thanks for any help.

Seeing as the frogs do not float, I would take the temp on the top of the substrate directly under the light and on top of the substrate at the furthest point away from the light.

lol...thats what i figured but I wanted to make sure.
Also, do I have to worry about the frog burrowing deep down into the substrate and getting too close to the heating pad? The substrate is about 3.5 inches deep.
Either mount the heat pad on the side of the tank or get a heat lamp. I prefer heat lamps as in the wild, the frogs will receive heat from the sun, above them. If they get too hot, they can always burrow to escape the heat. But a frog does not have the intellect to realize that the heat is coming from below it when there is a heat pad, so the frog might burrow down on top of the heat pad, ironically, to escape the heat.
