Do mealworms in a bowl need to be more on the cool side of tank?

newkid Feb 28, 2004 07:15 PM

I have some worms in a dish in about the center of the tank but it seems like Im baking them...

What do you think?

Hes only eating like 4 a night. Rest of the day hes in his humid hide, I feel kinda silly with a bowl full of mealies if he only eats at night. Although hes only been home for about week to two weeks.

Get your leo off the sand!

If he is only eating them at night, take the mealies out of the dish in the morning and put them in a gutload then put them in the dish at night.

yes,

mealworms usually are put in cooler areas so if i were you i would put them at the coolest point of the cage...also change the mealworms everynight and put the others in the bedding so you can keep them fresh for your gecko...if you have any other questions i would be happy to answer them

I put mine on the warmer side, they seem to be more active and they pupate faster (turn into aliens) so I can remove them and breed faster
