Harlaquin hypo female, after meal shot

Bill Parks Feb 28, 2004 08:19 PM

Hi, hows it going? This is a harlaquin hypo female i got from tim magee a few months ago. This female has unreal background and saddle color. I cant wait to see what she developes into. The male is in shed right now, and the female shed about a week ago. These things gain more and more color as they grow, and also after they have a meal. Well, i hope you like her. Thanks. Bill

You never experience life until you have kids..then you realize what you should have done rather then what you did do

This is the one I was telling you I'd like to breed to the Sharp albino...plenty of time to decide tho...(glad she's doing well for ya!)

you ever want to breed him to my adult female Kahl strain,
you let me know!!

(I know, not as nice coloration as a Sharp-strain, but she
has some pinks in all that yellow!)

This one will be amazing in a year,I think...

Without any "additives" (*lol*) Alot of people are quick to point out that the "hypo gene" alters the pattern...yes,it does, and,so does whatever is at work within this particular bloodline.this is an example of one individual expression of it.

Is that just a normal Harlequins? You know I don't know jack about morphs but I like this animal so much. I wish it were for sale. Hint Hint.

Rainshadow Feb 29, 2004 12:48 AM

Yeah, she's just "straight Harlequin blood",the mother of this animal looked almost identicle at this age,she is lovingly refered to as "female A" (*lol* original names unh? her sisters are "B" "C",&"D" it lacks originality, but, does have continuity ) she will probably be for sale when I die, but,Brendan's first in line!

Is Dominant."co-dominant" as we currently use the term, suggests that, when breeding a "first generation gene carrier" to a "non-gene carrier",the results will show a statistical "50/50 split".(I failed to find a defining 50/50 split in the litters I produced this year, but,I'm using second generation gene carriers?) We know it's not recessive, but,I'm trying to be cautious in not jumping to a premature conclusion, until I'm able to examine the results of breeding some of the F1's we've produced.(soon,I hope.)

jeff favelle Feb 29, 2004 08:22 PM

I think they're so cool, you don't need a "super" form, LOL!!

Breed it with an Arabesque and get the "Battle of the Genes"!

Good job man. What's the price on Harli x normal babies (the ones that express the Harli gene)?

You mean I'm expected to actually part with some of them???....Ooohhhwww...hmmm,I'll have to think about that...

greenman38 Feb 28, 2004 09:49 PM

It is shocking to see how they get better and better with age. Do they all do that, or is it just with some of them? Great looking animals, can't wait to own a pair someday. Thanks for sharing

Rainshadow Feb 28, 2004 10:03 PM

So far, they all seem to get dramaticlly better across the board,so to speak...some of the individuals that didn't really look that great to begin with were later pulled back as "keepers" *lol*...there seemed to be a mind-boggling assortment of different "looks"?
