These past few nights I've been waking up in the middle of the night to some strange sounds. I keep almost all of my reptiles and amphibians in my bedroom so it's not unusual to hear an occasional frog call or the drone cricket chirps but this sound was different from anything I've heard before. It is a short (roughly 2 seconds max) trill/squeel. I don't know how else to describe it. It came from the direction of my male ebenaui tank, the only other animals in that part of the room are a horned frog (large dog bark call), a fire salamander (silent) and an american toad (long, loud, trill).
Do Uroplatus ebenaui make noise? If so, what does it sound like? Why do they do this (if they do it)? Maybe I'll hook my microphone up to my computer and leave it running tonight to see what I get. If I record anything I'll upload it so you guys can hear it. All input is appriciated,
