Occasional Sneeze Anything to Worry About??

ChicoB Feb 29, 2004 12:59 AM

Hi all,
My veiled, Toka, has been sneezing everyonce in a while for the last few weeks, Ive read that sneezing is a sighn of URI but he only sneezes once in awhile like once ever other day from what i've notice but of coarse im not around all day to hear if he sneezes more often. Is ocasionally sneezing anything to worry about?? What other symptoms of URI should I be looking for if this is infact a warning sighn. Thanks all!

My cham also does this sometimes, and it can also be a way of intimidation. Other symptoms of URI are crustiness around the nostrils and laboured breathing. If all the temps and humidity levels are correct, then i doubt it is URI. Make sure he doensn't have those symptoms, and if he does, get to the vet.

Sneezing is common in Chameleons (Also in other herps). Sneezing is for like ludachris821 explained, to clean their nasal passage. Also Chameleons sneeze you get rid of unwanted salts, what they get from the water.
