Get something done about bad petstores!...

StinaUIUC Feb 29, 2004 01:12 AM

From what I've heard, the best way to get something done about petstores that mistreat their animals (or have animals they aren't supposed to have) is to call the state Department of Natural Resources (DNR). State DNR's know all the state laws regarding reptiles and such, and WILL get bad pet stores taken care of. People on the www.turtletimes.com forums have seen pet stores either vastly improve or just stop selling reptiles after calling thier state's DNR. Anyway, that's just a suggestion of something you might be able to...to find the number or an e-mail address you should be able to do a web search for the DNR by typing in: _your state_ DNR "department of natural resources". I think that would get you the DNR's website.

That's why I said petstores and not petcos...lol I'm just trying to let people know that there is a way to get something done when a bad store won't change their ways on their own.

We all have said there are some great pet stores out there, unfortunately the ammount of bad ones out weigh's the good ones.
