Call a venomoid FLAWLESS hahahaha

budman 1st Feb 29, 2004 04:51 AM

what a joke hey its all for the cash.
These voiders have more cash to work with and can
stand to pay more for their ads so they will do better than the little guys that make only a few bucks per snake.
Since they jack the price 300 pecent or more.
so they are here to stay since ks loves the cash.
where ever it comes from good or evil.
I grow weary of a losing battle and ks pockets grow fatter.

You think there is nothing that can be done???? Check the state laws...... I am pretty sure every state has laws against the average joe preforming vetinary practices on animals...... Find out where these venomoids are being done and contact the proper persons in that state........ All the proof you need is on the ads....... They will be investigated....... A couple of void dealers have already gone down or stopped selling because of this...... It sickens me to see how many ads there are for venomoids now...... When I started keeping hots, there were hardly any around...... Now it every other ad you see one for sale........ These people can be brought down for their illegal and cruel acts........ We just need to take the proper steps....... When contacting the authorities, try to sound educated and do not go off on a rant....... Keep it plain and simple with all the facts including animal treatment laws....... If the authorities get enough letters or emails they will have to do something......

They know that the surgeries are being performed illegally by garage hackers with no vet licenses, yet they do NOTHING about it. Why? For a lousy 50 or so bucks it costs to advertise. What a joke.

Venomoid sales would be SEVERELY curbed if Kingsnake would take a stand against this. They can't be making that much money from venomoids especially since NO major/respected dealers offer these animals for sale. Why allow an illegal and abusive practice to be perpetuated through this service? I would feel alot more comfortable about paying to advertise through Kingsnake if I knew that they were taking a stand against these practices.

I agree whole heartedly...these guys can make a buck hacking snakes because ks(which is arguably the largest reptile market on the net) won't take a stand against venomoids. But it's not just ks's fault...it's the buyers. I've talked to and seen people who DO KEEP HOT SNAKES buying venomoids...why???? Not for education shows, at least the ones i talked to...When I asked why, the answer was always "well, it's a nice snake, i've wanted one for a while" but they always skirted "Why get a venomoid and not an intact animal?" If you keep hots, then you should have no problem with a hot snake...makes me wonder. I also wonder how many "secret venomoid owners" there are, that is, they buy a venomoid cobra, but don't tell their friends so their friends think they're cool because they can wrangle their cobra and not get bitten, etc...This whole practice makes me nauseus...There are so many beautiful NON-VENOMOUS out there, if you don't feel you can handle a dangerous or potentially lethal animal, get a non-venomous! It's really that simple...But unfortunately, I think we are fighting a losing battle...until there is actually enforcement of laws regarding venomoid surgery, and unless KS actually tries to put a stop to the selling of garage hacks, there will ALWAYS be a market for them. Looking on KS classifieds yesterday, there was an ad posted that was ALL VENOMOIDS! About 15 or so of them! "All snakes have had surgery at least 6 weeks ago, and had their first shed"...wow, so you let the scars heal a bit and took out the stitches so you don't look like your selling Frankenstein's Monocle Cobra...jeez, i agree with MsTT, i don't look down on venomoid snakes, I look down on the people that make them that way.

The joke here is it's not kingsnake's responsibility to arrest people for illegal medical practice. If you personally can prove wihtout a doubt that someone is doing something illegal in accordance with their state laws then why don't YOU report that person to the proper authorities where that person is living?
