I used to have some yearlings in a cage with a shelf and they where climbing fools. It wasn't a branch and I suppose they where trying to get out.

Maybe yours doesn't climb because it's a blood of some type (I couldn't resist based on your sig pic)

I have a 3 1/2 year old female and a 4 1/2 year old male and they both love to climb and sometimes they stay in their branches for hours.

My tank has a piece of plastic right at the top that is about 2 inches below the screen top. My female has decided that this is where she wants to be all the time. It's hard for me to catch her anywhere else.

Mine climb(3 and 7 years old) occasionally, but not enough to call them "semi arboreal" like some of the books say. A couple years ago on the venomous forum, somebody even posted a pic of a puff adder climbing with a green mamba. Given a chance I'm sure any snake will climb sooner or later.

Sure they do. Here is Zan saying "hello" from his perch on a branch. Older pic, but him and Sagira still love to climb.
