Thanks.

I have a male subadult. I keep him at an ambient room temp of 80-83 degrees or so. I feed him a fuzzy every 5-7 days. He seems to be thriving. As he gets a little bigger I will cut him back to every 7 days. I am hoping to build some shelves so I can utilize some heat tape to provide a heat gradient. I have a lot of snakes, especially Garters, and I bought my Mexican Black for $10 on a whim. I am very glad I did as he is a great little snake. I am considering getting another one.

how old is your guy? I just bought one at the reptile show, the guy said he was born july 03. He's only 24 grams and I'd guess at least 1 foot. Does this sound right?
