Petstore cruelty!!!! NEED help!

pocketfulloffire Feb 29, 2004 10:39 AM

Ok i went to petco the other day to get some crickets so i decided to check on some of the reptiles and as one of the guys that work there lifted up a hide there was a baby leo under there dead completly smashed then i saw some dead anoles in the next tank and almost all the ones that were alive had noticable bite marks on them(there were 27 that i counted in the tank) then i noticed they had ordered 3 blue tongue skinks they were about mid sized and they were all being kept in the same enclosure which was only about two feet long one of them looked like it had a broken leg and the other two had bite marks on them, then there were 2 chinese water dragons in a tank about 1 and a half foot long they looked almost full grown.

Does anyone know who i can contact to report this? By the way i live in northern indiana.

The people that you should contact woult be your local humane society or SPCA (society for preverntion of cruelty to animals) that has jurisiction for the area that the Petco resides. The next place to try if those options are unavailable to you would be the municiple animal shelter in the township that the Petco resides. (or dog warden, animal control officer, whatever they call it wher you live). Lastly you can try the local police. Even if they are not interested in investigating, they would be able to point you in the right direction.

Good luck to you!
